Border-Jägers responsibility was (and still is) to guard the Finnish border, during the start of the Winter War they fought "Guerrilla" or "Sissi" warfare, slowing down the Soviet advance so the Field army could be mobilized and send to the Mannerheim-line. Border Jägers were very well trained and they managed their daring tasks well. The man on the left is Staff Sergeant (Ylikersantti), man on the middle is Captain (Kapteeni) and the one on the right is Sergeant Major (Vääpeli)Border-Jägers

You can see that Staff Sergeant has his rank insignia on shoulder boards instead of the rank-collar patch. This was quite common in Winter War as the supply situation was very poor. Both have M36 field uniform's winter variant. Officer has winter camouflage suit over it. Note: The Lieutenant has wrong cockade on his fur hat and It will be fixed.Finnish Lietenant and Staff Sergeant

Riding-Master [Cavarly rank for Captain] talking with two of his Dragoons. Uudenmaan Rakuunarykmentti [URR] was part of Cavarly Brigade during World War II along with Häme Cavarly Regiment and two Jäger Battalions. During Continuation war the commander of URR was Lieutenant Colonel Hans von Essen, who received Mannerheim Cross when commanding the regiment. General of Infantry Adolf Ehrnrooth also served in the regiment as Riding-Master before World War 2 started. His brother, Colonel Gustaf Ehrnrooth commanded Häme Cavarly Regiment during Continuation War. The regiment was highly mobile, because horses were still used (but not in combat). Kiestinki, April 1942. Finnish squad is scouting for enemy positions... Area near Kiestinki saw heavy fighting already in October 1941 when III Corps [Commanded by Major General Siilasvuo] captured Kiestinki. German forces were supporting the Finnish advance in the region and detachment of soldiers were subordinated to "Detachment J" (Infantry Regiment 53) commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Jussi Turtola. The next objective for Finnish-German formation was to cut off Kirov-railway. Detachment J managed to advance, but flanks couldn't keep up with the advance. Recently I have been remaking the Finnish Infantry skins. Now the uniform colour should be correct and the buttons and other small things have been changed for more realistic look. In the pic you can see Captain of the Jäger Brigade, which was elite formation under Armored Divisions command. Brigade saw heavy fighting during the decisive battles during Summer 1944, being an important factor in the Finnish defensive victory.Reworked Finnish M/36 summer uniform

In the picture you can see "Suojeluskunta"-militiaman of Karelia-District. He has early model of Model 1927 Uniform. White Guards were formed during Finnish Civil War and fought against the Reds, with both sides earning "bloody" reputation. During Winter & Continuation wars members of the militia fought in the front along with regular army and they earned good reputation: They were better trained and prepared for the conflict than many reservists. Perhaps the most known White Guardsman is Simo Häyhä who was part of Karelia district and fought in Battle of Kollaa as a sniper.White Guards
